Blackwall is the loop of land where the river bends around Leamouth, directly across the water from Canary Wharf. In the last few years it has become one of the most distinctive places to live in East London: London City Island, a gated peninsula of coloured towers reached by a single red footbridge, home to the English National Ballet; New Providence Wharf strung along the riverside; and the older creative quarter around Trinity Buoy Wharf.
